- velikost je 4,5 × 6 cm (což je přibližně polovina velikosti běžných hracích karet). Tato velikost zajišťuje dostatečnou plochu pro tisk textu a grafických prvků karet, umožňuje hráčům dostatečně velkou manipulaci s kartami a zároveň umožňuje snadné ukládání karet do úložných řešení vytvořených pro hrací kartičky;
- zadní strana je pro dané rozšíření jednotná a snad i odlišná od ostatních rozšíření, což umožňuje snadnou identifikaci a oddělení;
- přední strana má v pravém dolním rohu jedinečný identifikátor, který bude popsán o něco později. Důvodem identifikátoru je nabídnout způsob, jak se na danou kartu odkazovat. Písmo a barva by měly být zvoleny tak, aby byly snadno čitelné, ale nerušily celkový obsah karty. Mít něco, co se hodí k tématu rozšíření a zároveň zůstane přístupné i barvoslepým hráčům, je vlastně žádoucí;

Například "By Order of the King" bude začínat "BOOTK", zatímco "Vanguard" bude začínat prostým "V".

(FD), budou jim snadno rozumět i mluvčí makedonštiny, bulharštiny, ukrajinštiny, ruštiny a běloruštiny. Ba co víc, mongolština, tatarština, kazaština, kyrgyzština a tadžičtina používají cyrilici, takže i když iniciály nemají žádný význam, mluvčí těchto jazyků je přečtou.

(Nōfu no kodomo-tachi - Farmářovo dítě).

Several expansions are introducing cards as game material. Usually, the cards are "modifiers" of the usual rules, awarding advantages, distributing penalties, altering rules or defining special objectives. In some extensions this is implemented in the form of tiles, tiles that do not become part of the map.

My proposal is to standardize this kind of game material. The aim is to have cards with the following characteristics:
- size is 4.5 cm by 6 cm (which is about half the size of regular playing cards). Having this size is providing enough surface to print the cards' text and graphic elements, makes the cards large enough for players to handle, while making the cards easy to store in storage solutions created for tiles;
- the back is uniform for a given expansion and hopefully distinct from other expansions, making for an easy identification and separation;
- the front has on the bottom-right corner a unique identifier, which will be described a bit later. The reason for the identifier is to offer a way to refer to that card. The font and colour should be chosen such as to be easy to read, but unobtrusive to the overall card content. Having something that fits the theme of the expansion while keeping it accessible to colour blind players is actually desirable;
- the rest of the front has the content intended to implement the expansion. Ideally, graphic symbols should take precedence over text, as text is language specific. The official expansions with this kind of game material (Die Depeschen, Die Geschenke) are making efforts to be language neutral and fan-made ones, as much as possible, should follow suit.

The unique identifier came to mind thanks to

. It should consist of the following two or three parts: with uppercase, the initials of the expansion name, with lower case, a distinction "marker" if the first field has already the same value elsewhere, with digits the card number inside the expansion.

For instance, "By Order of the King" will start with "BOOTK", while "Vanguard" will start with a simple "V". The letters used are those in the original language name, Latin or Latinized, without diacritics. An expansion that would look in German like, say, "Über und Unter", will have cards identified with "UUU" rather than "ÜUU", as U-umlaut needs special encoding/keyboard to record the card when played.

Let's say now that a Serbian fan is creating a new expansion, "Фармерова деца" (Farmerova detza - Farmer's child). If we are to identify the cards with the initials "ФД" (FD), it will be easy to understand also by speakers of Macedonian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Russian and Belorussian. Even more, Mongolian, Tatar, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Tadjik use Cyrillic writing, so, even if the initials have no meaning, speakers of these languages can still read them. However, Latin is more universal; pretty much all these people know it, beside their own alphabet.

A more extreme case is if a Japanese fan is creating a new expansion, "農夫の子供たち" (Nōfu no kodomo-tachi - Farmer's child).  Collecting the "initials" doesn't even make sense: "農夫のた" as "NōfuNoKoTa" ?

So, the Serbian cards will be marked with "FD", the Japanese ones with "NNKT", therefore keeping consistency accross the board.

With an expansion like BOOTK or NNKT, chances for clashes with other expansion names are slim. With V and FD, the odds are higher. If someone will ever create an expansion "Vegetables", V alone cannot be used. Therefore, the cards will be marked with a "Va": "V" for the title, "a" for unicity. Another expansion, "Verboten!" will become "Vb" and so on. This adds a certain complication to authors, who'll need to know other card sets, but I think it can be overcomed by discussing in forums.

Finally, there is the card number. Vanguard cards will go from "V1" to "V7", BOOTK will be BOOTK1 to BOOTK98 etc.

Ideally, the existing expansions with tiles holding the role of cards will be redone. Tiles will remain to:
a) add to the map
b) serve as proxies for larger map tiles
c) serve as triggers when the expansion requires so and cards are not practical

Collectors will probably want to hold on their tiles version and also have the cards version, but I believe that standardization will show its benefits in the long run.

Its sound interesting but it need to be consider in creating that tiles, that this ID of card will be written directly on card to be clear, to not need to learn order of cards or to have some sheet with this card.
So if ID will be on directly printed and unique on card, it's good approach and also usable worldwide.

That is exactly my intention, yes.
